In light of them I realise I unecessarily narrowed the scope of my question be pre-supposing "ArcObjects" is the direction I need to go in. What are the most important things to keep in mind when choosing which of the two languages to begin study in for use with ArcObjects?

Exploring ArcObjects

COM objects expose multiple interfaces. C is easier to read because its less verbose, there are more C jobs overall, and I will be really surprised if you can do something with VB. For me the right balance between detail and overview.

The ArcPy module is used to script these ArcGIS analyses, providing a productive way to perform geo-analyses and automate map production. Sign up or log in Sign up using Google. All publications are available to purchase online and include topics that cover many areas of public and private endeavor including land-use planning, health care, education, business, government, and science.

As for ArcObjects, there are so many examples and code snippets that you can add directly into Visual Studio that you might just be able to learn the basics from the examples. In version 8 ESRI actually published ArcObjects books; 2 huge volumes that were a great reference and included many examples for.

I want to create geodatabase child replica to different coordinate system than the parent replica data in a disconnected environment. I found how i do it manual by arcmap interface (arcticle in Knowledge Base), but I do not understand how to do it through my code by ArcObjects classes.
